Evaluation
In December 2018 the Evidence Standards Framework for Digital Healthcare Technologies was released by NICE, working with Public Health England, MedCity and DigitalHealth.London. The Framework provided a clear framework for what evidence commissioners should require for new technologies and products, giving guidance to businesses and entrepreneurs on what good evidence and evaluation looked like.
DHEW, working with Health Technology Wales is looking at how we can adopt the Framework in Wales.

First Working Group Meeting
A conference call was held to talk through next steps, action plan to be developed!
Working Group Formulated
As a result of the successful workshop event held in May, DHEW formed a working group to outline work and actions going forward. Working group members include representatives from NWIS, DHEW and NICE.
Evaluation Event
Following the launch of new standards for evaluation by NICE in December 2018, DHEW and Health Technology Wales (HTW) held a workshop to review these standards to help us understand what evidence standards for Wales could look like. The event included presentations from HTW and NICE in addition to group sessions looking at the issues and barriers to adopting these standards in Wales. We came away from that meeting with a good understanding of the challenges we might face and who the key stakeholders would be.
